In response, Chappelle fans came to his defense and shared their enthusiasm over his upcoming appearance. Some even made it their duty to declare that he could never be “canceled.”
“Hey, Twitter, Dave Chappelle is under attack again. This man is definitely one of the greatest that has ever done it,” @wilmrbadguy insisted. In the post, he even tagged Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk. “I stand with DAVE CHAPPELLE. SNL do not CANCEL him as the HOST. Share this Post~Wilmrbadguy #Istandwithdave #snl #CANCELCULTUREMUSTDIE.”

In September, Chappelle and fellow award-winning comedian Chris Rock went off on award-winning rapper and actor Will Smith during comedy sets in the United Kingdom. They had done so in response to Smith slapping Rock silly on stage during the Oscar Awards in March.
“A lot of people forget who Will Smith is,” he hilariously said, referencing the entertainer’s Philly roots. “Then, 10 minutes before he was about to get the biggest award…he acted like he was back in Philadelphia. Will did the impression of a perfect person for 30 years, and he ripped his mask off and showed us he was as ugly as the rest of us.”
