Singer Bobby Brown Missed Two Performances On New Edition Tour Due To Exhaustion

R&B legend and ’90s heartthrob Bobby Brown has missed two shows since the group New Edition began their Legacy Tour in March. Attorney Christopher Brown said exhaustion was the reason.

Brown, the singer, had missed the shows in Houston and Dallas.

“To my New Edition Texas fans, I love you, and I’m sorry I missed you this weekend. San Diego-Be ready!! You will get the best of me and my New Edition brothers,” Brown said in a statement, according to Vibe.

New Edition’s upcoming performance is on Thursday, April 6, at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. Some cities they are performing in are Las Vegas, Inglewood, Cleveland, Louisville, St. Louis, Nashville, Long Island, Baltimore and Miami. Their last stop is in Tampa on April 30.

The “Candy Girl” singers’ most recent performance before Legacy was at the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in New York.

New Edition comprises Brown, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell and Ralph Tresvant. They formed the group in the late 1970s when the members were between 13 and 15. In 1987, Brown left the group, causing “My, My, My” singer Johnny Gill to take his place.

The group is known for its hits like “Mr. Telephone Man,” “Can You Stand the Rain,” “If It Isn’t Love,” “Cool It Now” and more.

Before Legacy, New Edition’s recent tour was the 2022 Culture Tour. Gill described their bond on tour as a “brotherhood” to Vibe.

“That’s something you can’t even manufacture,” Gill said. “That comes from life, living, experiences, ups and downs, and the good and the bad and all of those things rolled up in one that causes us to create and have the type of brotherhood that we have.”

In 2017, a three-part biopic came out on BET, showing the lives of the New Edition members from childhood to adulthood.

A year before the miniseries, Brown revealed the full details of his life in his book, Every Little Step: My Story

Tickets for the Legacy Tour are available for purchase.
