According to BET, award-winning singer Ashanti, 41, will be awarded her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Rapper Ja Rule is expected to be there with her.
The “Foolish” singer posted her reaction and gratitude on Instagram, writing, “Speechless. Humbled. Honored. Grateful. Thank you guys sooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! April 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Ashanti is an award-winning singer, author, actress, and executive producer,” Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer Ana Martinez said. “She has proven her talent in many different Hollywood industries and is an example for young girls who want to be in the ‘biz.'”
Ashanti has been heavily involved in the entertainment industry since 2002 and still is.
Outside of being an actress and singer, Ashanti was also involved with rapper Nelly from 2002 to 2010.
The Long Island native went off the grid for a short time due to complications with her former record label. However, Ashanti was still releasing songs and even performed on Broadway.
She’s currently touring nationwide and will be performing at the Dreamville Festival alongside Ja Rule in North Carolina on April 2-3, which is also where she will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of her first album, “Ashanti.”
Ashanti has won two American Music Awards, eight Billboard Awards, one Grammy, an MTV award in Japan and one Teen Choice Award. She made history when her debut album reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts. In the Guinness Book of World Records, she currently holds the title for her first album selling over 500,000 copies in the first week.
The ceremony will be held on April 7 at 11:30 a.m. PT, in the Recording category at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard. Those who aren’t in California can watch the ceremony online.
