On Saturday, Simone Boseman, wife of Chadwick Boseman, paid tribute to her late husband during Saturday night’s Stand Up to Cancer television broadcast.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Simone performed a song and was introduced by actor Anthony Anderson who shared kind words for the late Chadwick.
Anderson said, “Many of us were devastated to learn of Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing after he privately grappled with cancer for several years.”
“The world lost an incredible artist and a true hero. But before he was a public figure, he was a person like you or me — a son, a brother, uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, husband. Many of us are all too familiar with the fracture a dearly loved one’s passing leaves in the lives of those who love them. Here to perform a song about living with the reality of loss and finding a way forward is Chadwick’s wife, Simone,” he added.
The song performed by Simone was a rendition of the classic “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
Chadwick was a legendary actor; he starred in the popular Marvel film Black Panther as T’Challa and starred as Jackie Robinson in the movie 42.
Boseman died on August 28, 2020, after a long battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
