Showmax Debuts ‘The Real Housewives Of Lagos,’ Showcases Nigeria’s Lavish Lifestyle

Showmax has expanded The Real Housewives franchise with The Real Housewives of Lagos to showcase six Nigerian women and their luxurious lifestyles.

“As an African brand, showcasing and telling African stories is at the core of our content production, so we are excited to be partnering with NBCUniversal Formats to bring The Real Housewives of Lagos to our subscribers,” said Candice Fangueiro, head of content at Showmax Africa said in a statement.

She continued, “The Real Housewives franchise lends itself to localization, and we know our audience is going to love seeing the show reinvented Naija-style. We can’t wait to show the continent – and the world – another side of Lagos, with all the drama, high fashion, and luxury you’d expect from The Real Housewives

franchise.”

The new reality series, produced by Livespot 360, will be available for viewing on Showmax — airing in more than 40 African countries with new episodes every Friday, The Sun reported.

The Real Housewives of Lagos captures the lives of Carolyna Hutchings, a mother of three and CEO of Hutchings unlimited — a real estate, oil, and gas agricultural company. She is also the founder of Hopeville Foundation, an NGO that helps women and children.

Laura Ikeji is a social media influencer, author, and entrepreneur. She shares two children with former Super Eagles star and husband, Christopher Kanu.

Chioma Ikokwu is a lawyer and CEO of a luxury hair brand she co-founded, Good Hair Ltd. When she’s not tending to her business, Brass and Copper Restaurant & Lounge, she manages a women and children’s charity called Goodway Foundation.

Toyin Lawani-Adebayo is a well-known celebrity stylist, fashion designer, business owner, and Tiannah’s Place Empire CEO. She has two children with her husband and musician, Segun Wealth.

Iyabo Ojo is a famous Nollywood actress, brand influencer, entrepreneur, and CEO of Fepris Limited. She is divorced with two children.

Busola Tejumola, executive head of content West Africa channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, said,The Real Housewives of Lagos has long been anticipated by fans of the franchise across Africa, and we’re excited to finally bring it to your screens. The show will explore the rich culture and lifestyle of Africa’s largest megacity, Lagos, through the eyes of six of the city’s most glamorous women. Each of these women is unique, fabulous and watch-worthy. We are certain that our viewers will enjoy the ride.”
