Legendary Emmy-Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph was recently awarded The Order Of Jamaica and shared her excitement about it with fans.

According to Jamaica Observer, Ralph was recognized with the Honorary Order of Jamaica for her “sterling contribution as an actress, cultural ambassador of Jamaica and for contribution to the international film industry.” On Oct. 17, she shared two Instagram posts about her latest honor.

“Well, it is now official! I am The Honourable Sheryl Lee Ralph OJ (Order of Jamaica) Warrior Woman! [jamaican flag emojis] #ThisisWhatBelievingLooksLike,” she wrote, expressing her excitement in the first post.

Ralph was reportedly one of 143 notable Jamaicans that the ceremony honored, including dancehall artist Agent Sasco, five-time World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, jazz pianist Monty Alexander and others. She was born in Waterbury, Connecticut to Jamaican parents: fashion designer Ivy Ralph O.D. who created the famed “kariba suit” and Jamaican college professor Stanley Ralph.

“Thank you, doesn’t even seem enough to say as I celebrate this National Hero’s Day in Jamaica as one of only 10 women awarded The Order of Jamaica. Thank you [jamaican flag]. Thank you, @sagicorja. Thank you all for #believing,” she wrote in a second IG post for fans.

The veteran actress and Abbott Elementary star won her first Emmy back in September, Sis2Sis reported. During the annual televised ceremony, she gave an inspirational speech while accepting her award.

“To anyone who has ever, ever had a dream and thought your dream wasn’t, wouldn’t couldn’t come true – I am here to tell you that this is what believing looks like,” she said.

Days later, she appeared on The Jennifer Hudson show, where she relived her Dreamgirls moment from the hit 1983 film. In it, she portrayed the fictional singer Effie White.
