‘Sherri’ Talk Show Renewed For Two More Seasons!

Fox executives announced on Wednesday that they’ve decided to renew Sherri Shepherd’s talk show, Sherri, for two more seasons. According to People, Sherri was approved to last until 2025.

“I am so thrilled that Sherri has been renewed for two more years,” Shepherd said in a statement. “I launched this show with the mission to give daytime viewers ‘a good time,’ just like my theme song says.”

She continued, “I am so appreciative that Fox and Debmar-Mercury have partnered with me to continue bringing more laughter, joy and inspiration to my audience.”

Initially, Shepherd landed the talk show role as a temporary fill-in on The Wendy Williams Show. However, since Wendy Williams was away getting the help she needed for physical and mental health issues, showrunners didn’t see the talk show continuing. However, Shepherd received excellent ratings, prompting show executives to cancel The Wendy Williams Show and make room for Sherri.

“We initially sold Sherri for one year based on our strong belief that this extraordinarily talented host would be successful and her show would become a long-term talk franchise,” Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents, said. “Our thanks go to our good friends and longtime partners at FOX, who shared in our enthusiasm and have renewed their faith in Sherri with this long-term commitment.”

Frank Chicha, the executive vp program for the Fox TV Stations, said that it was a challenge to find the right fit for host, but “Sherri’s mix of professionalism and competitive strength” was a “great fit.”

After The Wendy Williams Show ended in the summer of 2022 and news of Sherri came out, Shepherd expressed her excitement about having her show.

“OMG! I am so excited to have my dream come true and debut my very own talk show, Sherri in the fall,” she said. “I can’t wait until I return to NY to host the show and merger everything I love…pop culture, talk, entertainment and comedy.”
