Serena Williams’ daughter is already thinking about joining the family business: becoming a tennis player. She may be three but already has a front seat at the 2021 Australian open.
The tennis champion posted a video on Sunday with her daughter, Alexis Olympia, playing tennis with her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou. Olympia was hitting the tennis ball as Mouratoglou was coaching her in the video. Williams wrote under the caption, “Tennis diaries.”
It was also a spectacular moment for Mouratoglou as he posted on his social media page, remembering Williams’ 23rd Grand Slam title win while pregnant with Olympia. He tweeted, “Coached both 2017 Australian Open women’s champions today.”
Olympia has played tennis for quite some time; she started taking lessons in October 2020. Williams has no problem preparing her daughter for her tennis lessons and has no issues sharing her techniques behind the sport.
“I’m not a pushy mom but I know how I like techniques, so I want to make sure she’s good at teaching Olympia some techniques,” said Williams.
Williams defeated Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the fourth round of the Melbourne tournament Sunday. She is set to face Romania’s Simona Halep in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
