Williams and Ohanian got married in November 2017, and they share a 5-year-old daughter named Olympia.
In 2017, Williams achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Australian Open for the 23rd time while being eight weeks pregnant with her daughter. This was her final Grand Slam victory, and she has since retired from professional tennis after the 2022 U.S. Open.
During a 2019 interview with Page Six, Williams shared her wish to have another child. She hopes that the age gap between the siblings will be similar to the one she has with her older sister, Venus Williams.
Williams attended the event honoring late German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, best known for his black and white outfits that were honored in this year’s Costume Institute exhibit and gala, with her husband Ohanian.

Williams wore a black and white Gucci gown, saying, “Karl never disappointed with his designs, so we’re both just so happy to be here and get inside and not drink.”
Lagerfeld had been appointed a Creative Director of Chanel during the 1980s until he died in 2019. Lagerfeld was also the creative director of the Italian fur and leather goods fashion house Fendi, as well as his own eponymous fashion label.
Attendees, just like Williams were encouraged to dress in honor of Lagerfeld, and many did so by wearing his designs or by paying homage to his signature style. Some of the most notable are the following: Rihanna, who wore a custom-made Chanel Haute Couture gown with a towering headdress; Blake Lively, who wore a custom-made Versace gown with a train that extended for over 60 feet; Kim Kardashian, who wore a custom-made Thierry Mugler gown that was inspired by Lagerfeld’s designs for the house; Jared Leto, who wore a custom-made Gucci suit with a headpiece that resembled a miniature version of himself; and Billy Porter, who wore a custom-made ball gown by The Blonds that was covered in Swarovski crystals.
Williams and Ohanian were joined by model Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, actor Nicola Peltz.
