Serena Williams Baptized At Jehovah’s Witness Assembly In West Palm Beach Florida

Tennis icon Serena Williams was recently baptized at the Jehovah’s Witness Assembly in Florida to mark a safe retirement journey.

According to Sportskeeda, Serena was baptized in Florida on Jan. 8—just a few months after announcing her official retirement from tennis. She and her sister, fellow tennis legend, Venus Williams, were reportedly raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses during their younger years. However, the sports star never practiced it in her adult life so she’s deciding to make a change.

“Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it, “ she told Vogue magazine back in 2017.

Serena added that her husband, Alexis Ohanian, “didn’t grow up going to any church,” but he’s supported her decision.

“Alexis didn’t grow up going to any church, but he’s really receptive and even takes the lead. He puts my needs first,” she said.

In November, award-winning Toronto rapper, Drake, hilariously called her husband a “groupie.” But Alexis wasn’t wasn’t having it, as he seemingly clapped back and expressed his love for Serena, Sis2Sis reported

at the time.

“The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do–including being the best groupie for my wife [and] daughter,” he tweeted. The tweet was accompanied by a photo of him and the tennis champion’s daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., watching her on the court.

The tennis icon got wind of her husband’s response and commented on it with heart smiley emojis.

Drake initially fired shots at Alexis, calling him a “groupie” on his joint track with Atlanta rapper 21 Savage “Middle of the Ocean.” The song appears on the duo’s latest album, Her Loss (2022).

“Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie / He claim we don’t got a problem but / No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi,” the Toronto musician rapped.
