In the clip, the pair were riding on the back of a golf cart in Chicago looking at Dawson’s front phone camera. While Dawson makes silly faces, Okafor told her that he loved her while proceeding to refer to her as “baby.” She told him she loved him back and the two gave each other an affectionate look.
The 43-year-old actress captioned the video with a red heart and fire emoji. She tagged his private Instagram account, which has “A loving lover of lovely loveable people” in his bio. His bio also reads “Divinely inspired by the awkwardly spiritual.”
The pair were attending Chicago’s Comic and Entertainment Expo.
Before the Nigerian poet, Dawson was dating Senator Cory Booker. The two began dating in December of 2018 and called it quits three years later in November 2021. It’s not clear why they stopped dating, but a source close to Booker told People that they remain good friends.
Rumors about Dawson and Okafor surfaced in June when he posted on his Instagram story a photo of Dawson cuddling up to him, according to Extra TV.
Followers reacted to Dawson’s little reveal in her comment section with many of them asking if Okafor was a new lover of hers.
“Still not happy you & Cory aren’t together,” one user wrote.
“New boo?!!” Another commenter asked.
Dawson recently posted on her Instagram story a video of her dancing to “Suavamente” by Elvis Crespo and panned the camera to Okafor who was sitting and appearing to fix his shoes.
Many wishes of luck and happiness to the new couple.
