Roland Martin Dragged On Social Media After Coming For Sha’Carri Richardson On Twitter

Media personality Roland Martin had his a** handed to him on social media after taking a cheap shot at Sha’Carri Richardson after she came in place at the Prefontaine Classic this past weekend in Oregon.

On August 21, Martin took to Twitter to sound off about Richardson’s loss.

“Damn. @itskerrii Sha’Carri Richardson got smoked at the Prefontaine @nikepreclassic like a big Jamaican blunt! That was BRUTAL. If ya ass gonna write checks, they can’t bounce! She finishes NINTH. She got HUMBLED real fast by the world’s top sprinters,” he wrote.

Twitter users were quick to check the misogynistic anchor.

Roland’s idea of “humbling” Richardson is steeped in white supremacy. The 52-year-old man, seemingly, thinks that Richardson has to ask for permission to be great.

As America’s fastest woman, she has accomplished more than any of us will in this lifetime. And a 2014 article on humility suggested

minorities, women and people with less education are more likely to be humble because of the obstacles they face.

Richardson didn’t belittle anyone else– she made it clear that she is a force to be reckoned with. And those are facts. The Louisiana State University student was raised by her grandmother and aunt after being abandoned by her mother. She worked her way up through the track and field ranks without having a trust fund, struggled with mental health issues and even attempted suicide in high school. She deserves to be praised and celebrated– even if it’s a one-person party.

And what exactly has Roland Martin done other than file for bankruptcy after his appendix burst and get

suspended from CNN for being a homophobe?

A middle-aged man in an ascot has nothing better to do than talk mess about a 21-year-old track champion?

This isn’t the pinnacle of Richardson’s young life. She has many years left in her to accomplish whatever she desires.

Martin, on the other hand, is on borrowed time.
