After accusing him of profiting off her name, Rihanna has officially dropped the lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty.
According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Rihanna had reached a settlement with her dad Ronald in court and has agreed to drop the suit weeks before they were supposed to appear in court.
Both Rihanna and her dad were set to show up in court on September 22 for the trial. Still, after deliberation, it appears that both parties wanted to avoid a public showdown and decided to settle their differences privately.
In 2019, the “Umbrella” singer filed a lawsuit against her father and Fenty Entertainment after accusing him of profiting off her name without her consent.
The lawsuit reportedly said, “Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf.”
Rihanna said Ronald was causing problems for her when he was booking shows on her behalf.

The mogul mentioned that her dad booked her a whole $15 million tour overseas and a few shows in Los Angeles despite never asking her for permission.
The artist said she did not know about the concerts, which led her reputation to take a hit with venues and promoters.
Rihanna said her dad even attempted to trademark the phrase “Fenty” as the name for a hotel franchise. However, this was quickly shut down by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
The billionaire then asked the court to grant her an injunction against Ronald due to his continued use of the Fenty name for personal gain.
Ronald didn’t go quietly at the time. He clapped back at the lawsuit claiming that it should be thrown out of court since he had the Fenty name first.
The court hearing was set to be June initially but was rescheduled to September since Rihanna was out of the country and would be unable to make it to L.A. in time.
