CNN’s April 24 firing of Don Lemon was sudden yet somewhat unexpected for the troubled news anchor, but Rick Ross’ Wingstop job offer is just as random.

Capitalizing on the news anchor’s last name and his departure, Rick Ross, real name is William Leonard Roberts II, is confident that Lemon would make a great spokesperson for lemon pepper wings.

“I just found out Don Lemon was terminated from CNN. Damn, Don. But guess what? A brother’s got your back,” Rick Ross said. “We hiring at Wingstop, and for some reason, I believe you know what you doing with the lemon pepper wings. So man, just send over your résumé … I’ma make sure I get you in front of the right grill, brother. Stay solid, brother.”

Lemon, who has worked for CNN for the past 17 years, has yet to publicly respond to the offer.

Rick Ross, who owns nearly 30 Wingstop franchises across the U.S., has also offered Lemon a gig with another brand, Rapstar Energy Drink.

The Miami rapper believes the former news anchor would make a great spokesperson for a new flavor of the drink.

“Just came up with a wonderful idea — well, really, Don, you helped me come up with this,” Rick Ross said. “I need to hit the team over at Rapstar Energy Drink and let ’em know we should introduce the Don Lemon flavor. What y’all think? Aye, Don, we got you brother!”

As of now, Lemon is signaling a lawsuit could happen between him and CNN if he is not compensated for what he signed.

Lemon, who has a $25 million payout after signing a contract that ran through 2026, and those familiar with his contract said he was promised $7 million a year for the next three years starting last September, wants to make sure he gets his money, Radar Online reported.

Lemon is a journalist and news anchor who has been with CNN since 2006 and used to host CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight”.

He was somewhat demoted after Warner Discovery, the new parent company, was formed. He co-hosted CNN This Morning with Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow.

After several embarrassing outbursts and allegations that he created a toxic work environment for women, Lemon was reportedly on the chopping block. 

There is no official reason for Lemon’s termination, with CNN CEO Chris Licht of Warner Discovery releasing a memo to staff on April 24 saying, “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years.”
