The Real Husbands of Hollywood is returning for its final season on BET+ after five seasons filled with celebrity guest stars, comedic antics, and drama.
The streaming service will air the six-part limited series on Thursday, Feb. 10. On Monday, a trailer for the sixth season premiered during the Nick Cannon Show, with the cast member introducing a clip of the highly anticipated comedy show. “We are reunited for the new season, and it’s called More Kevin, More Problems, and I mean, it’s titled perfectly because Kevin is at his antics again,” VIBE reported.
Cast members include Cannon, Kevin Hart, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, JB Smoove, Nelly, Robin Thicke, Cynthia McWilliams, and Jackie Long. The show initially ran from 2013 to 2016 before taking a break following the fifth season. Newcomers Michele Weaver and Angela Rye will be joining the crew, along with several celebrity guest stars, including Tiffany Haddish, Amanda Seales, Big Boy, Mark Cuban, Yolanda Adams, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Dr. Phil.
While the series was originated from a sketch during the 2012 BET Awards, the cast members portray fictional versions of themselves as they pursue “fame, fortune, and virality.”
In July 2020, BET tapped Hart, the co-creator, and HartBeat Productions to produce the final season with Jesse Collins Entertainment. They will also be filming in Tyler Perry Studios.
In December, Hart starred alongside comedian Damon Wayans in ABC’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience series, playing famous characters from the beloved 80s television sitcom Different Strokes. Wayans portrayed Todd Bridge’s character Willis Jackson, while Hart depicted the late Gary Coleman’s character, Arnold Jackson, Sis2Sis reported.
The Live in Front of a Studio Audience special started in 2019 with actors Viola Davis, Woody Harrelson, Jamie Foxx, and more recreating episodes from the iconic sitcoms All In The Family and The Jeffersons.
