Billboard confirmed that R&B legend Sade has reportedly been in the studio recording new music.

According to the outlet, Sade has been recording new music at Miraval Studios in France. Actor Brad Pitt and French producer Damien Quintard recently reopened the studio, as Brad co-owns the Château Miraval vineyard in the Var department of Provence.

“You could feel the love that she and the band had for this place,” Damien said, speaking highly of Sade. “And when we talked to musicians who came here previously, they all have this special connection with Miraval that can’t really be explained… It’s a dream come true to see this place activate again.”

Damien and Brad, who reportedly calls the R&B singer “royalty,” also confirmed that she was the first person to record at Miraval when it reopened. However, it isn’t the first time she’s done so, as she recorded music at the famed studio–founded by French jazz pianist Jacques Loussier in 1977–many years ago.

The news of Sade hitting the studio is extremely exciting for longtime fans, as she hasn’t released an album since Soldier of Love in 2010. The UK native first burst onto the music scene in 1984 with the album Diamond Life, which spawned the hits “Your Love Is King” and “Smooth Operator.” The following year, in 1985, she released Promise, which spawned the hit song “The Sweetest Taboo,” and several other successful albums in the years to come: Stronger Than Pride (1988), Love Deluxe (1992), and Lover’s Rock (2000).

Known to be a hermit, Sade made a rare appearance on comedian Wanda Sykes’ now-defunct talk show, The Wanda Sykes Show

, in 2010. Much to fans’ pleasant surprise, she was very funny without trying, and her skit accumulated nearly two million views since it was shared on YouTube.

In 2018, she was featured on the soundtracks for A Wrinkle in Time and Widows.
