Rasheeda and Kirk Frost claimed their relationship struggles, played out in Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, have helped other married couples.

In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Rasheeda and Kirk shared why they believe airing out the struggles of their 22-year marriage, ultimately help other married couples.

“First of all, a lot of people haven’t even been in a 21-year marriage — or ours will be 22 in December. So they don’t understand the levels of the relationship, you know what I mean. But you know, it’s just difficult, living your life out, everybody seeing it. People, they talk about things still as if it just happened and it’s been like six years,” Rasheeda said.

“With family, with friends, everybody has an opinion,” she continued. “And at the end of the day, it was between me and what God has for me in my life and our relationship. And I had to realize that that was one of my biggest learning lessons during that time. [It] was just really understanding who I am and maneuvering and doing what I felt like was right because a lot of people tried to steer you in the direction that they want you to go in.”

“Those days will never go away,” Kirk added. “I will say this, and I have to just be honest about it. Me putting my relationship on Broadway, it just changed that whole aspect of just relationships, period, like I had a lot of guys come up to me like ‘Yo, you helped me save my marriage. I went back. We got back together.’”

The two are happy that, in the end, sharing their relationship struggles has helped others heal.

“It ended up being a blessing,” Rasheeda said. “I met so many people… it could be young couples all the way up to like 60 and 70-year-olds who would just come and talk about different stuff and feel like we’re like their therapist.”
