Actress Raquel Palmer paid $2,000 for a billboard in 2019 to grab Tyler Perry’s attention. She landed a leading role in his new upcoming series, All the Queens Men.
At the time of the billboard, Perry had responded by posting a picture of it and reprimanding the aspiring actress for her methods of trying to get his attention.
He wrote, “This is not the way to get my attention if you’re looking for a role in one of my shows. Please DON’T DO THIS. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! This is the third time that someone has done this. PLEASE STOP! To audition is FREE!! I’m sure you can use that money for a better purpose.”
“I love that you want to work with me, and I love that you invest in yourself. But when you do things like this, it puts my team on high alert and makes me look at you sideways,” Perry continued. “I know the message that you want to send is a positive one, but this comes across as the opposite.”

Perry’s commentary didn’t deter the young actress. She managed to book a role on the BET show Sistas and is, now, officially the leading lady in a new series directed by Perry. She told TMZ.
Palmer explained the new opportunity to the news outlet, “I’m a lead on his new show, which is called All the Queens Men that comes out September 9th.”
“It is hot; it is steamy,” she shared with the outlet. “I play Blue, who is her head of security. I pick up any loose ends. I’m extremely loyal to Madam and anything that she needs to be done.”
Palmer also confessed that she and Perry have crossed paths on set but never talked about the billboard incident.
She explained, “We’ve met in person because Sistas, I did one or two of that, and we are filming the first season on Tyler Perry Studios…we never spoke of the billboard!”
She added that it’s simply an actor/director relationship.
