Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson shared an intimate phone conversation with longtime friend and rapper Snoop Dogg on Instagram.
Unfortunately, the audio of the conversation was immediately deleted. According to Vibe, Tyrese wrote in the post’s caption, “I was depressed and posting my raw vulnerabilities online. God knows I needed this phone call from my big homie Snoop Dogg.”
In the audio, Tyrese’s fellow Baby Boy castmate offered him emotional support and ensured his journey would help someone.
“This is mental health. This is relationships. This is all of the s**t that the world is going through within one package,”. “And my ni**a dealing with it, you actually dealing with it through the pain of this record. You’re gonna help somebody else learn how to live through pain and make that a beautiful pain.”
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper continued, “You my n***a, cuz. I’m not gon’ never let you put your muthaf***in’ head down and do nothing that ain’t appropriate. I’m a watch you from the sidelines, and then when God and them talk to me from upstairs, that’s when I’m a step in and do what kin do. We work for the same God, my n***a. You gotta know that.”
On Thursday, Tyrese posted an audio, updating his fans about his music, claiming to have turned down three deals and sounding exhausted and glum.
The “Sweet Lady” singer shared he felt like a dinosaur trying to figure out the new music business because he was used to CDs, not streaming platforms.
“So, right now, ‘Beautiful Pain’ doesn’t have a home right now,” he said, referring to his upcoming album inspired by his divorce. “The conversations that I’ve been having with the people that I actually love and know because they come from the same era of music. They happen to be top-tier executives at these labels.”
He continued, “The song is top five. It’s going to be number four very soon because of everything I’m dealing with…this divorce and the courts and everything that’s been playing out. Everybody has been going crazy over this song that wasn’t supposed to be a single, but it’s called ‘Love Transaction.’”
He explained that “Beautiful Pain” is a double album and addressed questions about the release date.
“I don’t want to sing about this f**king divorce no more. I don’t want to sing about none of this painful s**t, heartbreaking, sad f**king s**t.”
He said he doesn’t want to release his double album until he has the correct label and “his person.”
