Rapper Scarface Gets Kidney Transplant From His Son After COVID-19 Caused Organ Damage

Rapper Scarface recently received a kidney from his son, Christopher Jordan, after suffering from severe kidney damage after contracting COVID-19.

According to NY Daily News, Scarface had to obtain dialysis treatment and needed a new kidney. After searching for a donor, he was alas able to find one in his son.

Rap-A-Lot Records founder J Prince, who signed Scarface’s group, the Geto Boys, posted a photo on September 15 to Instagram of the rapper holding his son’s hand while recovering from the transplant at the hospital.

“Congrats to my brother @brothermob & his son @_iamchrisjordan for giving his father one of his kidneys,” Prince wrote. “I celebrate with the both of you for being an example of unending love. Chris, a lot of people talk about how much they love your dad, but you have separated yourself from the talkers by your actions. We all salute the both of you and wish you both a speedy recovery.”

Despite the donation being a serious life-changing decision, Christopher was eager to help his father get better and was more than happy to offer.

The young donor took to Instagram the day before the surgery and said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy!! Tomorrow We having surgery!!!!”

Following the surgery, his son shared that it went well and that they are both recuperating. He also updated his profile to say that he’s a #LivingDonor.

In a previous message to his fans, Scarface warned the public not to take the virus lightly.

“Don’t play no games with it,” he said.

“I haven’t been nowhere. I’ve been in my house. I ain’t been on no planes, I ain’t been in no restaurant. People out there thinking this s**t is a game? You don’t want to play with this,’ He added.
