Rapper Remy Ma Announces Joining The Cast of ABC’s ‘Queens’

On Tuesday, November 23, while guest co-hosting The Wendy Williams Show, Bronx rapper Remy Ma announced that she has joined the cast of ABC’s new show, Queens.

“Speaking of female rappers, we have great news. I am officially on the new show, Queens, on ABC,” Remy announced.

Remy also gave some inside scoop into the show, revealing that she’s actually the first to get a recurring role, unlike other stars who have made guest appearances on the show.

“It’s pretty cool,” she said excitedly while sharing the announcement.

Remy then went on to dish some details on who would be acting alongside her on the show and explained how she started off with writing rhymes for the show behind-the-scenes, and then from one day to the next, the team asked her to consider having a role.

She admitted that she was initially disinterested as the role would see her playing herself in real life, but eventually, she came around.

Remy also shared that the first episode she shows up on isn’t going to air until the first week of January.

Along with Remy’s announcement, on Thursday, November 18, Zahir McGhee, the creator of ABC’s Queens, let out a teaser on Twitter hinting that Remy would appear on the drama show.

McGhee tweeted, “Don’t care if they can’t stand me/I’m sitting on top of the world like Brandy,” he wrote. “REMY MA has entered the QUEENDOM,” along with a photo of them two.

According to VIBE, Remy also recently played a minor role in 6:45 as well as had a leading role in American Gangster Presents: Big 50 – The Delrhonda Hood Story.

Queens is set to air on Tuesday nights on ABC and is also streaming on Hulu.
