Rapper Master P Is Working With 7-Year-Old Gun Violence Survivor And Snoop Dogg To Write And Publish A Children’s Book

A 7-year-old gun violence victim is on his way to becoming an author with the help of rappers Percy “Master P” Miller and Snoop Dogg.

Master P announced on Instagram that he’s collaborating with 7-year-old Malakai Roberts and Snoop Dogg’s upcoming cereal brand, Snoop Loopz, to publish a children’s book, Adventures of Malakai.

Roberts, a Kentucky native, became a gun violence survivor after getting shot in the head in December 2020, permanently losing sight.

“We’re publishing a children’s book with 7-year-old Malachi from Lexington, Kentucky, who lost his vision due to gun violence,” Master P wrote in the post. “He’s an inspiration for kids overcoming adversity. #GODisgood “The Adventures of Malachi” children’s book will be available in 2023, Presented by Snoop Loopz Cereal. The more we make, the more we give. @snoopdogg www.SnoopLoopz.com Sharing is caring. @doggyland_kids.”

According to WLKY, Roberts participated in Louisville’s Future Healers Program, a program focused on raising awareness of gun violence’s impact on the youth. Future Healers combined the University of Louisville School of Medicine SNMA chapter, UofL Health – Trauma Institute, Surgery Department and Christopher 2X Game Changers.

“This book is going to be special because Malakai is special,” Master P told WLKY. “I mean, this kid has never given up with all the adversity he went through, so this book is gonna be special. And it’s all about kids, so we’re gonna be able to teach kids and help Malakai keep his adventures going.”

He continued, “It’s going to be incredible for the kids. I mean, cause we want kids to know how to overcome adversity, and by him losing his eyesight with the tragedies he’s been through, this has been incredible to be able to write a book with Malakai.”

A release date hasn’t been set for the book, but Snoop Loopz cereal is expected to land in grocery stores sometime next year.
