On Wednesday, Kanye West reportedly expressed interest in rekindling his marriage with Kim Kardashian during a speech at the Los Angeles Mission’s Annual Thanksgiving event.

While Kardashian, 41, has gone public with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, the Donda rapper is adamant about getting his family back. According to People Magazine, he also expressed remorse for his mistakes as a husband and believed God wanted him to reunite with his estranged wife.

“The narrative God wants is to see that we can be redeemed in all these relationships,” West said during the charity event to help those living near Los Angeles’ Skid Row. “We’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve publically done things that were not acceptable as a husband, but right now today, for whatever reason — I didn’t know I was going to be in front of this mic — but I’m here to change the narrative.” 

The 44-year-old, who was dressed in a black leather jacket, a black glove, and baseball cap– also stated that he wasn’t going to let E! And Hulu – the two networks that the Kardashian-Jenner family have had and will have shows on – “write the narrative of his family,” adding, “I am the priest of my own home,” the publication reported.

“If the enemy can separate Kimye, there’s going to be millions of families that feel like that separation is okay… but when God brings Kimye together, there’s going to be millions of families that are going to be influenced to see that they can overcome the work of the separation, of trauma the devil has used to capitalize to keep people in misery while people step over homeless people to go to the Gucci store,” the rapper concluded. 

During his speech, West also revealed that even though he moved into a house nearby, he wanted to be close to his children as much as possible; he ultimately “needs to be back home.”

West and the Kardashian share four children: North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.

The Chicago native is confident that he and Kardashian can revive their marriage, regardless of the rumored relationship with model Vinetria.
