Snoop Dogg, one of the most influential rappers in the music industry, has recently expressed his disappointment with The Academy for ignoring his contributions throughout his career.
Despite numerous nominations, the West Coast legend has yet to receive a single Grammy award, causing him to call out the prestigious awards ceremony for its lack of recognition.
The 51-year-old took to Instagram on Monday to express his frustration by sharing a photo of rappers with the most Grammy awards.
The image listed Jay Z and Kanye West, each having won 24 Grammy’s, Kendrick Lamar with 17, Eminem with 14 and Pharrell with 13.
Snoop captioned the photo, “Snoop Dogg. 20 nominations. 0 wins.”

Several fans and music industry peers took to social media to share their support and express Snoop’s influence, despite the recognition from The Academy.
Jamie Foxx wrote, “You deserve that and more, my G!”
Dee Spikes wrote, “I was just saying this today. You’re Definitely top five all-time crazy.”
Bone Thugs N’ Harmony’s Layzie Bone wrote, “The most recognized and famous hip hop artist on the planet if not the most famous person. You the man, big bro.”
Unc isn’t the only rapper who hasn’t received their deserved flowers. The list includes Tupac, who has been nominated six times, The Notorious B.I.G., who was nominated four times; Nicki Minaj, who has been nominated ten times; Busta Rhymes, who received 12 nominations, DMX, who received three nominations and many others.
Snoop isn’t the first to express frustration with The Academy for continuously snubbing Black artists in the music industry. Jay Z called
them out for continuously overlooking his wife Beyonce’s Album of the Year nomination. We support Unc and question when The Academy will finally get it right.
