A California nail salon is under fire after Halle Baileyâs boyfriend, rapper DDG, called for the internet to leave them one-star reviews, claiming they were racist to the singer and her sister and kicked them out.
However, after Halle went to Instagram to clear up rumors, some of the internet thought DDGâs request was uncalled for, while others sided with him.
DDG took to X in a since-deleted post, pitchfork at ready, to encourage his followers to leave one-star reviews on Yelp for a California nail salon called Perfect Nails, accusing them of kicking the Little Mermaid actress out and calling them racist.
âThis place is racist towards Black peopleâŠthey kicked my girlfriend out while doing her nailsâŠplease give them a 1 starâŠthey donât deserve businessâŠâ
The internet understood the assignment because many took to Perfect Nailsâ Yelp page and left scathing reviews.
âThis place needs new management or to just shut down. I am reading responses to negative experiences, and the manager/owner is just rude. Telling the client to go somewhere else if they want a relaxing experience, calling other clients liars. So unprofessional. Not to mention kicking out one of the sweetest celebrities there is out. Smh.â
âI came in with my friend Ariel to get her nails done; during the middle of her session, some racist workers put her out. Sheâs expecting & it really hurt me & her having to endure this experience.â
âI had by far the absolute worst service Iâve ever had. This isnât my normal shop that I attend, but I decided to come here with my sister for a girlâs day, and we were treated with the utmost disrespect.â
âDirty, disgusting. I saw a rat run across the room!!!! It smelled when I came in, very rude staff!â
After DDG deleted the post, he thanked his X followers for following through, informing them that âbeing nice to people is freeâŠit cost to be mean.â

Halle went live on IG and detailed the incident. She said she had made an appointment to get her nails done, but she made a reservation for Chloe since she returned to town. Since Chloe already had her nails done, she decided to get a pedicure.
Halle called the salon and asked if it was okay that her sister would be late. The lady confirmed that 15 to 20 minutes would be fine. The 23-year-old âAngelâ singer arrived early at her 3 p.m. or 3:10 p.m. appointment, and her salonist began doing her nails.
âI get there, and immediately the lady starts saying, âWhereâs your sister? You need to start checking her in,ââ Halle recalled.Â
She explained that Chloe was nine minutes away, adding that the salon was practically empty with only one girl, yet the lady claimed they had back-to-back appointments.
âShe starts giving me faces like nine minutes isnât going to work,â she said.
Halle attempted to keep her cool even though she was getting agitated.
âIâve brought them so many people. My glam team goes there now to get their nails done like I have really brought them a lot of customers, and I canât believe that theyâre acting this way over nine minutes,â she shared.
She said the lady continued going off and decided to cancel the appointment. That ticked Halle off, and the two started going back and forth. She noted that the nail salon was a Russian establishment, and the womanâs âdirectâ tone sounded rude.
Eventually, Chloe walked in, but Halle decided not to give them business and exited the establishment with wet toes and powdery fingers.
The situation divided the internet, with some claiming Chloe and Halleâs celebrity status didnât excuse them from following protocol. In contrast, others claimed the 30 minutes wasnât much and that the lady couldâve waited.
The salon worker responded in a video posted on The Shade Room explaining that Halle asked if Chloe could be 30 minutes late. The lady declined, causing Halle to ask if 15 to 20 minutes was acceptable. The woman agreed, but the worker had to cancel the appointment when Chloe didnât show up in those 15 to 20 minutes.
Without naming anyone, she confirmed that Halle was a loyal customer and helped bring her business, but there were rules in place. The lady then started to tear up, saying she received numerous negative reviews and threats from different people in different states. She stated that she was afraid to return to work, fearful something might happen.
Under TSRâs post, Halle told the internet to calm down, stating it wasnât serious.
âYâall, it is not that serious. I just was explaining my day on Snapchat and did not name any namesâŠwe went to another salon and still got our nails done beautifully, lol. Everyone be nice to everyone and calm down about some nails, please.â
