An alarming video of a white science teacher making disparaging and racist comments about Breonna Taylor surfaced on Instagram on Friday.
The video uploaded by user @Genn.ey allegedly showed a Zoom class at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia.
The caption read, “Pebblebrook’s teacher Ms.McCoy…the inappropriate things that happen here. It was out of her place to speak of something she knows nothing about. She ain’t never walked a foot in our shoes. This was so disrespectful, and I want to share it with you guy.”

The young lady also tagged the Cobb County School District.
The woman reportedly identified as Susan McCoy, forensics and environmental science teacher, saying that Taylor was responsible for her own death.
“*Unintelligible name* doing that whole thing about Breonna. I’m sorry that she was killed, but you know when you hang out with people with guns that shoot at cops– you’re likely to get caught in the crossfire.”
After an awkward silence, Mccoy caught smoke from students in the class. She doubled down on the imbecilic rhetoric and repeated the foolishness regarding Breonna Taylor.
In a sorry attempt to explain herself, McCoy recounted information from the case– all of which was inaccurate. Students didn’t waste time gathering the racist teacher over her ill-received commentary.
David Dennis Jr. posted the shockingly racist video on Twitter asking his followers to retweet it. The two-minute video has garnered over 100,000 views and over 1500 retweets. He also tagged the Cobb County School District.
Twitter reactions were justifiably angry over the racist discussion.
Cobb County School District allegedly responded to the claim via Dennis’ direct messaging on Twitter with a raggedy standard-issued “we are investigating” statement.
“Thank you for reaching out. The District is aware of the allegations, is investigating, and will follow any relevant District policy. As a District, we expect every member of our staff to treat each other with respect and understanding.”
Ironically, there was no mention of students being treated in the same way.
Pebblebrook High School has a student population of over 2500 students, according to Public School Review. The school’s demographic is 59% Black, 33% Hispanic, 6% white, and 2% mixed race.
There was no racial data available on the school’s 139 full-time teachers.
