An alarming video of a white science teacher making disparaging and racist comments about Breonna Taylor surfaced on Instagram on Friday.
The video uploaded by user @Genn.ey allegedly showed a Zoom class at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia.
The caption read, “Pebblebrook’s teacher Ms.McCoy…the inappropriate things that happen here. It was out of her place to speak of something she knows nothing about. She ain’t never walked a foot in our shoes. This was so disrespectful, and I want to share it with you guy.”

The young lady also tagged the Cobb County School District.
The woman reportedly identified as Susan McCoy, forensics and environmental science teacher, saying that Taylor was responsible for her own death.
“*Unintelligible name* doing that whole thing about Breonna. I’m sorry that she was killed, but you know when you hang out with people with guns that shoot at cops– you’re likely to get caught in the crossfire.”

After an awkward silence, Mccoy caught smoke from students in the class. She doubled down on the imbecilic rhetoric and repeated the foolishness regarding Breonna Taylor.
In a sorry attempt to explain herself, McCoy recounted information from the case– all of which was inaccurate. Students didn’t waste time gathering the racist teacher over her ill-received commentary.
David Dennis Jr. posted the shockingly racist video on Twitter asking his followers to retweet it. The two-minute video has garnered over 100,000 views and over 1500 retweets. He also tagged the Cobb County School District.
Twitter reactions were justifiably angry over the racist discussion.
She was my teacher in high school. When students (from working class families, many who worked themselves) would fall asleep in class, she slam a bowling ball down on the floor to wake them up. Always the Black kids. She was VICIOUS.

This is wrong. The teacher is wrong. Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend was not a criminal. It was an ex that the police tied to her through dubious claims to get the warrant.
I hope @CobbSchools does something about this. The teacher is spreading lies AND hatred.

New lies each time 1 is disproven
Her: They knocked
Students: No
Her: They had a no-knock warrant
Students: Wrong house, & right guy was already in custody.
Her: He shot first
Students: licensed owner, protecting himself
Her: She should have slept in a different apartment. 🤦♀️— Needs a new screen name (@CkDexter15) February 27, 2021
They always trying to change history truth. To fit their delusional narrative about POC. This is the results from Ronald Regan closing the agencies of programs for POC in education, medical etc. In our own communities. Every public school today has more white teachers in POC PubS

This teacher needs to be fired. Didn’t even know the very basics of the case. Thankful those students put her promptly in her place.

Yeah, how is a forensic science teacher (of all things!) talking about a case to students and the students know the facts better than she does? 🧐 pic.twitter.com/OU2V69iC9r

Firstly, from a person who heard teachers talk like this in a day when we had no way to record it, kudos to these students for utilizing the modern technology available to record the teacher. Secondly, this teacher MUST be fired and removed from teaching PERMANENTLY.

Cobb County School District allegedly responded to the claim via Dennis’ direct messaging on Twitter with a raggedy standard-issued “we are investigating” statement.
“Thank you for reaching out. The District is aware of the allegations, is investigating, and will follow any relevant District policy. As a District, we expect every member of our staff to treat each other with respect and understanding.”
Ironically, there was no mention of students being treated in the same way.
I hope @CobbSchools provides a better statement ASAP with actual results pic.twitter.com/lUdtz6d24b

*UPDATE*
Susan McCoy issued a standard-issued apology. We don’t care.
