On August 23, a young woman testified against R. Kelly, accusing him of giving her herpes. She then accused the singer of shaming her after she contracted the venereal disease at 17-years-old.
The New York Daily News reported that she took the stand in Brooklyn Federal Court using the pseudonym “Jane.” She alleged that she was introduced to Kelly at the Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida, shortly after attending his April 2015 concert.
Jane claimed that once she was in the hotel room alone with Kelly, she hoped to be able to discuss the possibility of escalating her music career to the next level. Instead, Kelly forced her to get naked in front of him and walk back and forth before performing a sexual act on the underage girl.
The accuser continued saying that two Florida police officers knocked on the door, and Kelly then yelled at her to get dressed in the bathroom.
“He was very anxious and scared,” she testified. “He said, ‘Are you 18?’ I said yes. He said, ‘Don’t lie to me.’”
The officers were searching for Jane after her parents made a 911 call in hopes of locating her. Jane said Kelly forced her to turn her phone off in fear of being recorded.
The police officers checked her license and verified her identity but did not question whether any sexual activity occurred between Jane and Kelly.
“They said if he [Kelly] was ever in Orlando and needed security, to let them know,” Jane said.
After that encounter, the woman said that she began traveling the country to attend Kelly’s shows which he expensed, and he began asking her to comply with rules.
He allegedly asked her to call him “Daddy” and told her to wear “loose and baggy” clothing.
Jane said he caught her texting a friend once, and he beat her.
“Are you ready to be honest?” Kelly asked as he assaulted the young woman.
“He hit me all over,” she said.
Giving an example of how Kelly tortured the women who broke his rules, Jane said he once forced a girl to record herself smudging feces on her face and mouth in the bathroom of one of his Chicago studios.

Jane also said that Kelly infected her with herpes less than a month after they had met.
According to the young woman, the two had sexual intercourse for the first time, and he did not mention that he had previously been diagnosed with herpes.
“I felt this man had purposely given me something he knew he had… He was agitated and said I could have gotten that from anyone,” she said and mentioned that she hadn’t had sex with anyone before him.
In response to her contracting the disease, Kelly said, “I think your p***y is broken.”
Jane then revealed her true age to the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer at Chicago’s Lincoln Park.
She said, “He slapped me in my face with an open palm.”
Jane’s testifying comes during the second week of R. Kelly’s New York trial, where he’s being accused of several crimes, including trafficking girls and women for illegal sexual activity as well as knowingly giving herpes to some of his victims.
