Migos rapper Quavo was reportedly with a group on a Miami yacht that was robbed by two men on Sunday, July 23, TMZ reported.
Footage showed the “Walk It, Talk It” rapper in a white tank top with his hands tied with zip ties while interacting with officers.
According to WPLG Local 10, the incident happened near The Wharf Miami. Quavo was among 13 to 17 people who chartered the boat. The owner told the WPLG that the captain informed the group that the reservation was about to expire and they had to return the yacht.
The group got upset, and two men, Cornell A. Whitfield and Anteneh A. Workeneh, reportedly got aggressive and began to rob the captain at gunpoint.
The report read that Whitfield threatened to kill and throw him off the boat, taking his wallet and phone. The group allegedly demanded a refund, as well.
A charter employee called the police to report the alleged “strongarm” robbery.
However, Miami police reported conflicting statements among the crew members. Whitfield denied a robbery and presented text messages between him and the boat owner, Angel Garcel Patino. He also showed police the receipt to show the yacht rental purchase via Cash App.
Quavo’s attorney, Drew Findling, confirmed with TMZ that no one on the boat was arrested.
“To be clear, Quavo was NOT mentioned in the police report narrative. Not only was Quavo NOT arrested, he is not even listed as a witness to any alleged dispute. Ultimately, no one on the boat was arrested,” Findling’s statement read.
