In the wake of his grief, producer Metro Boomin posted an Instagram story on July 23 offering a message about appreciating your parents after the passing of his own mother just over a month ago.
Metro said in an Instagram story, texts over a black screen, “Please love and appreciate your parents while they are here,” He continued, “I’d give anything in the world to speak to my Mom again. Crying every day is the new normal.”

The post’s caption encouraged people to continue sending him love and support as he dealt with his grief.
The Neighborhood Talk wrote, “Aww, Metro Boomin is still in mourning after tragically losing his mom a few months ago 💔 Neighbors, let’s continue to send him love 🙏🏾❤️,”
In the comments, fans shared their personal stories for the Grammy award-winning producer. One user wrote, “I feel his pain. My mom passed away 11 years ago, and I’ve never been the same after that… you never get over it. Just learn how to live with it… sending him hugs… 😢,” Another added not long after, “That’s the hardest pain to ever go through. I don’t wish this feeling on anybody.”
They continued to point out Metro’s continuing kindness in the wake of his own tragedy, “Grieving his mother and still did something good for those people in Buffalo! ❤️❤️❤️.”
They referenced his paying off the mortgage for the family of a hero of the shooting, Aaron Salter, Jr.
Metro was close to his mother, often posting about her on his Twitter, “Happy Birthday, Mom! My biggest inspiration!! Enjoy your new phase! #LESLIETIME.”

He once wrote. “My first and greatest blessing is Mom. Smart, Strong, Beautiful inside & out and Faith Filled. How could I not win!” He posted alongside a picture of his mother.

On June 3, Boomin’s mother, Leslie Wayne, was killed in a murder-suicide by her husband outside of Atlanta, according to reports by TMZ.
