Philly Rapper PnB Rock Fatally Shot At Roscoe’s Chicken And Waffles In California, Reps Confirm

Reps confirmed that Philly rapper PnB Rock had been fatally shot at a popular Los Angeles soul food restaurant.

According to the LA Times, PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Hasheem Allen, reportedly died at the hospital after being shot at Roscoe’s Chicken And Waffles in broad daylight.

He “was with his family, with his girlfriend or some kind of friend of his and as they’re there enjoying a simple meal,” Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore announced on Sept. 13.

Moore added that the couple “was brutally attacked by an individual who apparently [came] to the location after a social media posting,” in reference to a now-deleted location-tagged image uploaded via Stephanie’s Instagram.

Police confirmed that PnB and his alleged girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang, were robbed before the shooting on Sept. 12, as the gunman reportedly demanded jewelry and other valuables from them. PnB reportedly struggled with the shooter before the unidentified man opened fire on him.

“He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot,” Los Angeles police Capt. Kelly Muniz said about the suspect. Investigators are currently examining surveillance footage inside Roscoe’s and checking surrounding businesses’ security systems to identify him.

PnB was born on Dec. 9, 1991, in Germantown, Philadelphia, and delivered a string of hits in the 2010s, including the 2017 track, “Selfish.”

His death sent a major shockwave through the hip-hop industry as he was well-loved and respected–especially by fellow Philly rapper Meek Mill.

“Shit burnnnneedd my soul bad today [teardrop and burning heart emoji],” Meek wrote in an Instagram post.

Fans and social media users even revisited a clip of PnB recalling a time when someone tried to rob him while with his family.

“N****as see me with my family, and they think I’m just out here lacking,” he said during an interview with famed media personality DJ Akademiks. “N***as was just talking loud as s**t, wanting me to hear their conversation and here’s with my people’s–my daughter and my girl–like why are they talking about this g*****a s**t…like what the f**k is going on? I’m like– ‘Nah man, we out.'”

The 30-year-old was reportedly a devout Muslim, prompting his religious followers to send condolences to him and his loved ones.

“Just found out PNB Rock is Muslim. May Allah grant him and his family ease,” one user, @speeds_c, tweeted.
