Although the rapper’s death occurred weeks ago, DMX’s tributes continue to flow throughout the world.
The latest being this past Sunday when actress Paige Hurd, also known as DMX’s Goddaughter, took to Instagram and shared a gut-wrenching tribute dedicated to her godfather along with the last picture of them together taken only one week before his passing.
Hurd penned a poignant caption on her Instagram, “7 days prior…This is was the last time we hugged, we danced, we held hands. The last time we said I love you, the last time I would ever hear you scream PUMPKINNN. when we are together, we are inseparable, & we DO NOT play about each other.”
“I just can’t believe this was our goodbye. Shock has been my feeling the past month since I got the worst call in the middle of the night. The shock & grief is heavy, uncomfortable, and hard to express. I just don’t have much yet. Forgive my silence,” she continued.
“I love you so much. I’m so proud to be your goddaughter. You are a part of my world, and my heart aches terribly these days and will never stop.”

Sister2Sister reported that at the private funerals service held for the rapper, friends and fans of DMX gathered and shared their love for the legend. His children attended and spoke some words for their late father, spit some bars, and reflected on memories of their dad.
Hurd, who was almost like a daughter to X, chose to share some words as well.

According to Complex, the actress debuted in the entertainment industry with DMX in the 2003 action film “Cradle 2 the Grave.” In the movie, she played X’s daughter, which led to the two cultivating a real-life connection.
Though she was not blood-related to DMX, Hurd decided to make him and his ex-wife Tashera Simmons, her godparents.
