Big Boi of Outkast fame has listed the Dungeon, the famous home studio used by the Atlanta group and the rest of the Dungeon family in the 2000s, on Airbnb for the summer. Commemorating Outkast’s 1996 hit album ATLiens along with Black Music Month, Big Boi will host three overnight stays for nearby fans at the residence on June 29, July 1 and July 3.
According to Rolling Stone, guests will only be
charged $25 per night at the Dungeon, which Big Boi purchased in 2019. They will also have access to the in-home studio during their Airbnb stay, as well as a guided tour of the basement, where Outkast members Big Boi and Andre 3000 created many of the hits we love today.Related Post: Formerly Homeless Real Estate CEO Now Building Affordable Housing
In a statement, Big Boi discussed the history and cultural relevance behind the Dungeon family and the home where they recorded much of their music. Artists Killer Mike, Goodie Mob and Outkast would often collaborate and tweak their songs to perfection.
“Atlanta is my home, and I grew up with the Dungeon Family in this house. We would spend hours hanging out in the basement, writing rhymes and putting together beats at all hours of the night,” he
said. “Since purchasing the home, I’ve been excited to open its doors and welcome the next generation of artists to the space that inspired countless songs.”Sharing the news on his Instagram page along with a selfie in front of the Dungeon house, Big Boi stated, “I’M AN AIRBNB HOST! The Dungeon is now on @Airbnb and ready for guests. Who’s comin’???”
Those interested in staying at the Dungeon house can make their request to book starting Friday, June 25 at 1:00 PM EDT. Only those living in the United States can be considered.
