Omarion Mourns The Loss Of His Grandmother, ‘If You Know Me, You Know This Woman Is My Heart’

Omarion took to Instagram to honor his late grandmother, who died on January 22. The singer mourned the loss of his “sweet Nana.”

“If you know me, you know this woman is my heart,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you for everything, Nana. Going to miss you so much. Thank you to everyone for all of the love, well wishes and prayers. See you on the other side, Nana.”

Fans and celebrities commented on the post, sending their prayers and condolences to the “Touch” artist.

The former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood cast member recently set the record straight after many referred to the latest COVID-19 strain as the “Omarion” variant. And while the Omicron variant has rapidly spread across the United States, the musician was lighthearted about the comparison and highlighted the seriousness of the disease, Variety reported.

“Hi, this is Omarion. I am an artist — not a variant,” he begins the first of three TikTok videos posted January 1. “So please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you don’t have to isolate for 5 days.”

He made a follow-up Tik Tok to his 2005 hit, “Touch” saying, “While it’s important not to touch me and keep your distance, cause you know that’s how it’s supposed to be, you don’t need a negative test to dance to my music,” he said. The videos instantly went viral with more than 100,000 views each, making their way to other social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The 37-year-old switched up in a Genius.com video, stating that this wasn’t the first time he’s had to defend himself in a controversial situation. “The last time I had to do this was in 2000 when everyone confused Y2K with B2K,” he quips. “That ain’t how it’s supposed to be, but seriously, I want to wish you all a happy and safe new year’s. Peace.”
