A judge has ordered Dr. Dre to pay his ex-wife, Nicole Young, $3.5 million per year in spousal support, according to The Blast. The couple has been married for 24 years.
Dr. Dre will have to pay Young $293,306 on the first of every month, which amounts to $3,519,672 annually, until Young either dies or gets remarried. Young had requested $2 million monthly. The payments are to begin on August 1, and the rapper will also be responsible for Young’s health insurance.
The couple also owns homes in Malibu and the Pacific Palisades, which The Chronic rapper agreed to maintain as the couple works out their final divorce settlement. Apparently, the judgement is only temporary because the couple has a prenuptial agreement.
Twitter definitely had opinions of Dre having to pay Young $3.5 million per year.

While $3.5 million seems like too much money, considering the rapper’s net worth is around $800 million according to Forbes, he can certainly afford to take care of his ex-wife who bore him two children. He was allegedly violent towards his wife as well.
Nicole accused her husband of holding a gun to her head twice and of punching her head and face on two occasions. The police were called following an incident in 1995 before the couple married. Dre allegedly slammed her against a wall, grabbed her neck and lifted her off the ground. Young said that incident is the only time she called the police after she was abused because she was too scared of her husband.
“During our marriage, I considered calling the police several times,” said Young. “But, as I fell deeper into the abusive relationship, my fear of Andre outweighed any confidence I had that the police could help me….Andre kicked down the door to a bedroom in which I was hiding from his rage in 2016. Andre has verbally and emotionally decimated my personhood to the extent that I currently suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome.â
Dre denies any abuse of his wife, although he did apologize to “the women I’ve hurt” in a New York Times article.
