Nicole Young, the soon-to-be ex-wife of Dr. Dre, has alleged that the rapper still owes her $1.2 million in legal fees following their divorce. Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, was ordered by the judge to pay his ex-wife $1.5 million for legal fees.
Lawyers for the soon-to-be ex-Mrs. Young’s lawyers have requested that the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department force Young by filing a writ of execution against Mr. Young with the intent of collecting the remaining $1.2 million owed by the music mogul.
As reported by Sister 2 Sister, the former couple is going through an ugly divorce. Young filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage in July of last year. Young reportedly served Dr. Dre with papers pertaining to their divorce while he was attending his grandmother’s funeral. The documents were given to Mr. Young in the parking lot of the funeral home’s cemetery.
The former couple’s divorce is complicated since Nicole asked for half of her husband’s income during their marriage, but the couple had a prenuptial agreement. Further complicating matters, Dr. Dre can’t produce the original documents for the prenuptial agreement.
While Young concedes that she has $1 million in the bank, she owes more than $1 million in legal fees and claims that her husband is trying to break her financially by building legal fees during their divorce.
“Andre is doing whatever he wants to do because he is an enormously entitled and well-funded litigant who seeks to exact revenge on his former wife by decimating her financially leaving her without legal representation in this case,” read the motion.
Young’s estimated worth is $800 million, and a judge ordered him to pay his wife $3.5 million per year beginning Aug. 1. The rapper was ordered to pay $293,306 every month on the first by the judge. The payments will continue until either party dies or Nicole remarries.
The motion demands that the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department “enforce the judgment.
