Kenneth Petty, the husband of superstar rapper Nicki Minaj, has found himself in a precarious legal situation following an online altercation with Offset, the husband of Minaj’s former rival, Cardi B. Petty’s actions have led to a court-ordered 120 days of home detention.

The recent conflict unfolded when Petty posted video clips on social media that appeared to contain threats directed at Offset. These clips, filled with explicit language, featured Petty and two other individuals on a New York City sidewalk repeatedly mentioning Offset. Fitzgerald handed down a sentence of three years of probation, one year of home confinement, and a $55,000 fine.

Petty’s sex offender registration stems from a 1994 incident in which he was charged with first-degree rape for an alleged assault on a 16-year-old girl. He ultimately pleaded guilty to attempted rape, serving over four years in prison and being ordered to register as a sex offender.

In November 2019, Petty encountered further legal trouble when law enforcement discovered that he had failed to register as a sex offender in California after relocating from New York. This discovery led to an indictment in March 2020 for failing to register, after which Petty surrendered himself. He was released on a $20,000 bond at the time.
