Nicki Minaj addressed the controversy regarding a fake Instagram account posing as her assistant reportedly spilling salacious information about the rapper.
The Instagram account under the name Kate Miller claimed she was a former assistant of the rapper and threatened to release confidential information about Minaj.
“I am [Onika’s] ex-assistant who she fired for absolutely no proof of fraud with her bank account,” the Instagram account’s story read. “I’m exposing all files I have from working for her. Along with the voice messages she sent me regarding many different people not just Cardi B.”

A Twitter user posted a whole thread of screenshots from the fake account, which spewed bogus allegations.
The account claimed that Minaj spent thousands of dollars as bribery to get her track “Freaky Girl” on the charts. It also implied that her husband, Kenneth Petty, abused her. The fake account alleged that Minaj owed the IRS $173 million since 2016.
Minaj and Petty didn’t want to reveal their son’s name, yet the fake account alleged that the couple named him Amadeus Cyril Petty.
Minaj went on Instagram Live and responded to the fake account.
“Every day I learn that y’all getting dumber and f**king dumber,” she stated. “The other day I was on Twitter and I saw this whole fanbase, b***h. They marked up a whole spreadsheet saying, ‘This what we boutta do to get rid of Nicki finally.’ And they was saying all types of s**t, and I just was like ‘Woah, this is sad, right?’”

“I am mind blown that people are this f***king dumb,” she continued. “That people are really believing that I got somebody that work for me, and now they spilling tea, Chile. But, it’s not even that. It’s the tea sound so f**king dumb. And for a person to believe it, you would have to be dumb. It’s clearly a kid.”
The picture the scammer used was of author Megan F. Bettencourt who took to Twitter to clear things up.
To be clear: I never had a secret life as the “ex-assistant” of @NICKIMINAJ. Someone stole my photo and used it in a fake account. Fraudulent impersonation wasn’t the way I envisioned being mentioned in @Newsweek , but hey, scammers gonna scam. https://t.co/SjA6waUdMD
