Nicki Minaj Announces New Release Date For ‘Pink Friday 2,’ New Perfume And Tour

Nicki Minaj announced she had to push the release date for her “Pink Friday 2” album to her birthday, Dec. 8.

The “Monster” rapper took to Instagram Live to drop major announcements surrounding all things dealing with the “Pink Friday 2” release.

“Pink Friday 2, I’m so happy to announce, will be out on my birthday, Dec. 8. I’m so filled with emotion about it,” she said.

She gave out the unfortunate news to the Barbz that the release date had to be pushed for a couple of reasons.

“For about two reasons, I have changed my album date,” Nicki said. “Now, it has been changed for some time now, behind the scenes.”

“Pink Friday 2” is Nicki’s first album in five years, following “Queen” (2018). The initial release date was Nov. 17, but it was pushed to the queen’s 41st birthday, making it a bit more special. The first reason was to be respectful of Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, who announced that their highly-anticipated album, “Welcome 2 Collegrove,” would drop on Nov. 17, the same as Nicki’s initial date.

“You know how me and Wheezy play. He would never do that if that was my album date,” the “Super Bass” hitmaker said.

The other reason was that she and her team couldn’t get the vinyl records on time.

“They were actually available for Dec. 1 week, which is the following week,” she explained

. “So, I chose between Dec. 1 and my birthday, and I chose my birthday.”

The 40-year-old queen also surprised the Barbz with something they’ve been requesting for God-knows-how-long — new perfume.

Nicki partnered with Amazon and JC Penney for her new Pink Friday 2 perfume, which drops on Dec. 13 and Dec. 26.

Nicki added comedian and YouTuber Funny Marco to the live, and around the 15-minute mark, the “Pound the Alarm” rapper announced the “Pink Friday 2” Tour. Presale for the tour starts on the day the album was initially to be released, Nov. 17.

She also stated she had another surprise in store for the Barbz, which will be revealed on Nov. 17.
