Nick Cannon’s genius 5-year-old son Golden Sagon Cannon is headed to the second grade. Cannon took to Instagram to express how proud he was of his prodigy.

“Yesterday was the first day of 2ND GRADE for MR. GOLDEN CANNON!! (And he’s only 5 years old!!!!),” Cannon posted last week.

He also wrote that he was proud of Golden but said he couldn’t take all of the credit.

“Congratulations, Champ!! I can’t take non of the credit through!” the Wild N’ Out

host wrote. “He gets his genius from his Mamma.”

Golden was born on February 21, 2017, and is Cannon’s third child and Bell’s first. What’s fascinating is that Golden is in the second grade, in which the grade consists primarily of seven to eight-year-old students.

Bell took to Instagram in 2021 to share that Golden skipped Pre-School and Kindergarten.

“This Golden boy started first grade today! Of course, my mind flooded with all the memories of him as a baby leading up to today, and I cried!!! I’m so proud of him!! He’s ready!!! 📝 #goldensagoncannon #firstgrade (yes he skipped kindergarten and Pre-K —Pre-K soaring in learning and emotional development so let’s just praise God and clap for this bright Golden boy!!) 💌 ps. He said he wants to be everything when he grows up!! Well baby, you go right on ahead!! No limits to what you can be!! Be it all my boy 💌,” the proud mom wrote.

On April 16, 2021, she also posted a photo of Golden holding a book with thtitledGrade, Here I Come.

“He turned 4, cut his hair, and now first grade– all in a matter of a few months!! Just three months ago, he was still my 3 year old!! So proud of him,” Bell captioned the post. “This boy has such a gift for learning and has been a joy to pour into .. he has skipped preschool, pre-k, and now kindergarten- straight to first grade. Emotional intelligence and cognitive abilities are key in balance before any acceleration should be permitted!!”
