Nick Cannon Admits That He’s Stretching Himself Too Thin And It’s Impacting Time With His 11 Kids

Nick Cannon admitted to being stretched thin as a father of soon-to-be 12 kids and said he felt guilty because he doesn’t get to spend enough time with his kids, People reported.

The Wild N’ Out host opened up to Dr. David Agus on his show, The Checkup with Dr. Agus, about his life as a father to so many kids.

“Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me,” he said. “It’s that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children.”

Cannon added, “One ’cause I’m constantly working and two, because I’m just spread thin.”

Not too long ago, a source close to Cannon’s ex and singer Mariah Carey said that the “We Belong Together” wanted the Drumline actor to spend more time with his firstborn, Moroccan and Monroe.

“Nick thinks it’s crazy wonderful having all these kids,” the source said.

Dr. Agus and Cannon also touched on the loss of his and Alyssa Scott’s firstborn, Zen, who died from a brain tumor. Cannon said that Zen was “healthy, active, always smiling.”

He went further into how he and Scott received the devastating news of their son’s illness.

In addition to noticing his weird breathing problems the first two months he was born, they “noticed his head was a little larger, [but] all my kids have big heads. I was a big-headed baby.”

They decided to take him to the doctor, thinking he had asthma. After seeing the size of his head, the doctor knew something wasn’t right. The doctor diagnosed Zen with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, high-grade glioma.

Cannon and Scott decided against putting Zen through chemotherapy after the doctor told them it wouldn’t “really” impact their son’s cancer. Plus, they didn’t want to see him going through such a difficult time.

“Seeing your son hooked up to all of those machines—and he had to go for a shunt two or three times, and that was heartbreaking every time—even in that short amount of time, I couldn’t imagine him having to go through chemo.”
