There may be a Season 14 cast member shakeup on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
NeNe Leakes made it clear that she’d be down to return to the Bravo network show, saying she has “unfinished business” to address with her former castmates. On Thursday’s episode of The Real, co-hosts Loni Love and Garcelle Beauvais asked cast favorite Leakes if she would ever return to the franchise.
NeNe responded, “Yeah, sure, I’ll return to the show. I’m OK with returning to the show as long as we can work through a few things.”
“I’m happy to return to the show. And besides, I have a lot of unfinished business with a couple of them that they confirmed on the show [during Season 13].”
Season 14 has begun filming with NeNe.
NeNe also added that she and the show’s executive producer, Andy Cohen, would need to have a come to Jesus moment before she would consider coming back. During the segment, NeNe explained that she and Cohen were great friends in the past.
“I think Andy and I were really close for a really, really long time, and I love Benny boo, [Cohen’s son], and I helped pay for his baby shower and all those things,” she said. “I think that Andy and I need to have a sit-down and talk, and then we’re off to the races.”
Last year, rumors were circulating that NeNe had been fired from the show. Her manager squashed the buzz, saying, “It is absolutely not true that NeNe has been fired from RHOA. Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be. We are having ongoing bigger-picture conversations with NBCUniversal and have not made any decisions regarding next season specifically. Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate. Bloop.”
She started on the show in 2008.
