NeNe Leakes announced some hopeful news about her husband, Gregg Leakes, this week. He was finally released from the hospital after having been there for six weeks. Gregg has been fighting stage three colon cancer over the past few years.
In June, Leakes announced that her husband of over two decades had a reoccurrence of his cancer. The announcement came two years after he had gone into remission from colon cancer.
On Wednesday, Leakes posted on Twitter that she had missed a guest host spot on The Talk because Gregg was being released from the hospital after having been there for six weeks.
RT @Carmella: The cable info locally stated @NeNeLeakes was co-hosting at #TheTalk today. However no @NeNeLeakes today @TheTalkCBS. I guess maybe later< I was suppose to be hosting the talk today but i got good news that Gregg was coming home after being hospitalized 6 weeks.

When Leakes initially broke the news of her husband’s readmittance for treatment, she expressed that it would be about a two-week stay because he was having surgery. However, that expectation changed.
Fans first learned of Gregg’s first bout with cancer in 2018, and his journey was played out on the 11th season of RHOA. At the time, the toil of the illness placed a strain on the couple such that NeNe Leakes admitted to considering a second divorce from her husband.
Nevertheless, the Leakes are still together and prayerfully hopeful that Gregg has conquered cancer for the final time.
Colon and rectal cancer occurrence among younger adults (under 50) has risen since the mid-1990s. Early detection is key to a better quality of life and chance of survival.
In the meantime, NeNe Leakes has been working on her new endeavors, namely The Linnethia Lounge that she recently opened in Duluth, Georgia, to above-average reviews.
Our thoughts are Nene and Gregg Leakes and the rest of their family during this trying time.
