The 15-year-old son of NBA power forward and point guard LeBron James shared on Instagram that he’s taking significant steps in his basketball career. Bryce James took to social media on August 21 to announce that he received a Division I college scholarship offer from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The proposal was extended to him to play basketball.Â
“Blessed to receive my first D-1 offer from Duquesne #godukes,” Bryce wrote on his Instagram story, the words tagged alongside a photo of the university’s logo.Â
According to Sports Illustrated, Duquesne University is a school that has deep-rooted connections with the James family. Head Coach Keith Dambrot was a coach to NBA player LeBron while he was just a student playing at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. Furthermore, the assistant coach for Duquesne is Dru Joyce III, who happened to play with Lebron in high school.
The NBA Lakers star often praises his son Bryce and his oldest son Bronny for their play, believing they are both likely to go pro in the future. At 15, Bryce is already 6’6”, taller than his older varsity player brother, who stands at 6’2”.
After having a training session with the boys, LeBron posted a few clips of their performance on Instagram, captioning it, “Simply no better feeling than doing what I love to do with who I love! Great work today, Young [kings] #JamesGang #EarnedNotGiven,”
He’s always enjoyed watching Bryce and Bronny on the court.Â
Not just LeBron recognizes the boys’ talent.Â
