Model Nazanin Mandi has filed divorce papers against her estranged husband, R&B singer Miguel.
The high school sweethearts, both 36, dated for more than a decade in a long-term courtship before getting engaged in 2016 and married in 2018.
Mandi allegedly filed the divorce papers on Monday. TMZ said the model said the split was due to irreconcilable differences. She also revealed they signed a prenuptial agreement to divide their assets.
This isn’t the first time the couple filed for divorce. As previously reported by Sis2Sis, the couple announced their plans to divorce a few months before celebrating their third anniversary in September last year.
A representative told PEOPLE, “After 17 years together, Miguel and Nazanin Mandi have decided to separate and have been for some time now. The couple both wish each other well.”
The couple reconciled their differences, revealing they were back together in February this year with special social media posts.
Miguel captioned his post, “Love heals. Proud of us ❤️🔥 -Pimentel’s 🔪🖤.”

Unfortunately, this newfound love was short-lived.

The model shared an Instagram post with a reflective caption last week.
“On a current journey of introspection and discovering my purest me again … when and who was I when I was my most free and confident self,” she wrote with a series of selfies.
“She’s still in there. And rising to the occasion but this time with life experience, defined wants and an elevated mindset, one healing step at a time. If this is you, we got this.”

In March 2021, Mandi spoke about COVID affecting their relationship for the PEOPLE Everyday podcast.
“We were used to being around each other a lot, but then we were also used to traveling a lot,” she said. “So keeping the spark alive was definitely something we had to stay on — because when you’re in different cities, it’s automatic to feel excitement [when you see each other again].”
“But being home [together] all the time, it’s like, ‘Okay, we have to find new things to watch, and to do and to read,’” she continued. “It was a lot, but overall, we did great. I have no complaints, [and] am grateful for everything.”
We hope the two can peacefully move into the next chapter of their lives.
