While sitting down with The Breakfast Club to discuss her new ABC show Queens, Naturi Naughton couldn’t help but draw similarities between the girl group on the series and her former hit trio, 3LW. While on the subject, the Power actress surprisingly revealed that she, alongside 3LW members Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams, once filmed an episode of MTV Cribs using someone else’s house and that they were all faking it for the cameras.
Showing that things aren’t always what they seem when it comes to the entertainment world, Naughton
admitted on the radio show, “I was doing a fake Cribs…MTV did the Cribs, and you know, back when 3LW was hot, we had to pretend. But I didn’t have a car. I didn’t have a house. I didn’t have any of those things,”Related Post: Wendy Williams Diagnosed With COVID, Season Premiere Postponed
“I literally did that and had to clean the house by 7 o’clock to give it back to the owner…We had to clean up all of our stuff and get a cleaning person,” the 37-year-old actress added about the home, which was 3,000 square feet and located in Malibu, California.
It’s no secret that the “Playas Gon’ Play” singers had plenty of drama and issues between the three original members. And since Naturi Naughton’s departure from the group in 2002, more scandals have surrounded them and their tumultuous breakup, including the accusation that Williams once
hurled a plate of KFC chicken and mashed potatoes at Naughton before the group’s demise.Though Williams and Bailon went on to star in the hit Disney Channel film series The Cheetah Girls together, it appears that they’ve also since gone their separate ways. According to VIBE, Williams said in a 2020 Instagram Live about her relationship with The Real host Bailon, “I don’t think Adrienne wants to have live TV with me. ‘Cause she’s gon’ have to say, ‘Yes Kiely, I did pretend to be your best friend. Now, I am not.’ You were either lying then, or you’re lying now,”
In a 2017 episode of The Real, Bailon offered Naughton a public apology after revealing that she also spoke with her in private, stating on the show, “We were so young, and it was crazy. And I genuinely from the bottom of my heart never meant any harm towards you,”
