Muslim Artist Sues Rihanna For $10 Milly Following Savage Fenty X Debacle

Last fall’s Savage Fenty X show ended with a musician receiving death threats, according to TMZ.

The death threats have resulted in the musician suing Fenty for $10 million. The Islamic singer is being called Jane Doe in the lawsuit to protect her identity.

Rihanna was permitted to use one of Doe’s songs in her fashion show, but the Muslim artist alleged that the Fenty show used the wrong version of her song.

Apparently, the version of the song used contained sacred religious verses, and Doe had warned Fenty not to use that version. After the show was live-streamed and seen by millions, the traumatized woman claimed she received numerous death threats, had to go into hiding and eventually relocated.

Rihanna also faced criticism from the Muslim community and was accused of appropriation. The religious community was particularly offended because half-naked women in lingerie women danced to the sacred text.

The “Man Down” crooner has since apologized to the Muslim community, and future shows played the correct version of the song.

“I’d like to thank the Muslim community for pointing out a huge oversight that was unintentionally offensive in our savage x fenty show,” wrote Rihanna. “I would more importantly like to apologize to you for this honest, yet careless mistake. We understand that we have hurt many of our Muslim brothers and sisters, and I’m incredibly disheartened by this!”

“I do not play with any kind of disrespect toward God or any religion and therefore the use of the song in our project was completely irresponsible! Moving forward we will make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Thank you for your forgiveness and understanding.”

Doe also apologized for the mistake but said that she still fears for her life. The lawsuit claims that she lives with depression and anxiety due to repeatedly being threatened with decapitation. The lawsuit is a result of her mental duress.
