Mo’Nique and D.L. Hughley have publicly addressed their ongoing feud for weeks on social media over a headlining dispute in Detroit last month. However, the Baltimore native recently apologized to Hughley’s family after commenting on his wife and younger daughter.
The comedian addressed the “insensitive” comments during a Friday-night comedy show in Raleigh, North Carolina, and publicly apologized to the 59-year-old’s family.
“I’d like to consider myself a woman of honor,” Mo’Nique said. “So I’m about to do something right now publicly that I did publicly. And when I f— something up, I gotta fix it up. So I’m gon’ take care of that right now before I go any motherf—ing further. To D.L. Hughley’s family, I wanna publicly apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings. I want to publicly apologize to his wife, his babies if I hurt their feelings because that was never my god d— intention.”

While Mo’Nique appeared remorseful in her apology, she noted that it was strictly for the comedian’s family and not what she said about Hughley.
“Oh but that n—- D.L., I meant every motherf—ing thing I said,” she added.
The Phat Girlz star’s comments come weeks after she took to Instagram and posted a clip of Hughley taking responsibility for not believing his daughter after a family friend sexually assaulted her, Sis2Sis reported.

“How can D.L.’s wife suck the d— of a coward,” she wrote in the caption.
However, Mo’Nique’s comments prompted Hughley’s eldest daughter, Ryan Shephard, to respond to the 54-year-old in the comment section.
“Hi, @therealmoworldwide. I’m Ryan Nicole Shepard (D.L. Hughley and LaDonna Hughley’s eldest daughter). You’ve now publicly disrespected my mother—who I love and care for very much—and my baby sister—who I love and care for very much to get back at my father—who I love, respect and care for very much. At this point, I feel like you are asking my family and myself to act out of character,” she said in the comment.
Hughley shared the exchange on his Instagram account and praised his daughter for defending his wife and daughter.
“The love between our family is evident and clear, and while I’m beyond proud of the way my eldest daughter @brownsugarandbourbon handled this disgusting attack, this is not their fight. They have been repeatedly attacked for no reason. This needs to end,” Hughley captioned the post.
Hughley has not publicly commented on Mo’Nique’s apology to his family.
