Oscar-winning actress and stand-up comedian is set to return to the spotlight with a brand new Netflix comedy special.
Titled My Name Is Mo’Nique, the special promises to be an unfiltered, uncensored, and uproariously funny stand-up.
On Wednesday, Mo’Nique took to Instagram to share the announcement in a teaser clip.
She captioned her reveal, “HEY, MY SWEET BABIES!! IT IS HERE!!! MY NAME IS MONIQUE
GLOBAL RELEASE APRIL 4TH. I LOVE US 4 REAL!! @netflixisajoke.”
In the video, the 55-year-old can be heard celebrating her Netflix win. “Why did I title this special My Name is Mo’Nique? I give y’all my word, after 72 minutes, y’all gon’ know why this sh*t is called My Name is Mo’Nique,” she said with a smile.
The special was filmed in October last year. The Precious star continued, “Y’all might say, ‘Damn, we didn’t know we was gonna find out all that!’ Yes, my name is Mo’Nique.”
“This one right here is personal. When you walk away from this one, when you turn your TV off from this one, you’ll say, ‘Now we understand that woman.’ There are things I’m going to say in this comedy special that I thought that I would take to my grave,” she shared.
