Mo’Nique Joins Cast Of STARZ’s Hit Show ‘BMF’ For Season Two

Oscar Award, Golden Globe, and NAACP Image Award-winning actress and comedienne Mo’Nique has officially joined the cast of the hit Starz show BMF for season two.

Grammy Award-winning rapper and director 50 Cent, an executive producer of the show, announced the exciting news via Instagram on May 9.

“Guess who I got in BMF this season. GOLDIE ! GLG. GreenLightGang,” he wrote beneath of video clip of Mo’Nique, whose full name is Monique Angela Hicks, looking fabulous in a grey animal print top and matching grey haircut. “I don’t miss,THE UNDER DOG’s BACK ON TOP. @therealmoworldwide.”

In the video, Hicks said, “My name is Goldie. You know who the f**k I am.”

He also shared an image of her behind the scenes alongside BMF star Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.

“@eifrivera 🎥 Directing BMF 🔥 it’s lit. GLG🚦GreenLightGang, I’m not playing no games. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” he said.

Her character, Goldie, is reportedly a fictional Atlanta strip club owner that formed an alliance with the Flenory brothers–BMF’s main characters inspired by Demetrius Edward “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory–to help them move from Detroit to the legendary southern city.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has been vouching for Hicks’ return to television, as he expressed that he wanted the veteran comedienne to “win” back in March.

“I Gotta get @therealmoworldwide back in pocket. We only suppose to cancel shit that ain’t good for the culture. We need you to WIN again now, MO’NIQUE,” he said.

Jackson even previously told award-winning director Tyler Perry and media giant Oprah Winfrey to apologize to the Baltimore native for allegedly blackballing her.

She previously attributed Perry, Winfrey, and award-winning director Lee Daniels to her disappearance from the spotlight after refusing to promote Oscar Award-winning film Precious during award season.

Hicks also battled it out with Netflix. She sued the streaming platform for racial and pay discrimination after they allegedly lowballed her during a meeting about her possibly doing a comedy special for them.

Thankfully, she has been in great spirits, sharing her fitness journey on social media and announcing her upcoming comedy shows, which kick off in June.

“Hey, my sweet babies!! DETROIT, FLINT, STERLING HEIGHTS, [LANSING,] GRAND RAPIDS, AND SAGINAW! CAN’T WAIT TO SEE MY BEAUTY PEOPLE MAY 28TH AT THE FOX THEATRE!! I LOVE US 4REAL!!” she wrote in an Instagram post on May 20.
